Creams is a franchise with over 60 stores in the UK. We were commissioned to convert an office building on the main high street into a new desert parlour. The façade of the building was in an extremely poor condition, the rear of the building was showing signs of crumbling along with cracking walls and a leaking roof, so to start with, we needed to carry out reinforcement works to the building before we could start the internal build. The 4-storey building on the main high street came with yet more challenges, no parking for deliveries along with juggling the constant flow of pedestrians. The building was to be converted into the first 2 floors as dining areas and the 3rd floor for offices and staff areas, a lift was installed to access all floors. The detailed design consisted of specific joinery while adhering to Cream’s design brand guidelines.
Challenges and Achievements:
• Main high street so no parking for deliveries
• Busy high street with constant flow of pedestrians
• Building in extremely poor state, hence structural alterations, and reinforcements
• Achieved it to the clients desired timescales
